As Senior Marketing Data Analyst within the Marketing Strategy and Operations organization, you’ll be joining the Data and Technology team whose mission is to govern and leverage data, technology, and analysis to enable marketers to increase awareness, intent, and prioritization of records and accounts.
We are seeking a data-driven individual with a passion for translating marketing data into actionable insights.
This role will serve as the bridge between digital marketing strategy and insight delivery, leveraging analytical prowess to provide context to engagement metrics and offer recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and digital engagement channels, including paid media, web, email, and social media. The Senior Marketing Data Analyst will ultimately enable our marketing team to make data-based decisions to improve campaign performance and inform future strategic program development. Additionally, this leader will facilitate and enable broader insights-driven decision-making by focusing on instantiating data literacy efforts within the organization.
Responsibilities Will Include
The annual pay range for this position in Canada is $84, 70 - $135, 300
The annual pay range for this position in the USA is $98, 400 - $157, 200
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. Responsibilities Will Include
- Act as the data and measurement subject matter expert (SME) for our Digital Engagement team, helping develop an overall strategy and consistent best-practices for measurement and reporting.
- Collaborate closely with program leaders and channel owners to pinpoint their data requirements, establish agreed-upon datasets and monitoring criteria for key performance indicators (KPIs), and verify accurate tracking configuration for reporting and optimization purposes.
- Develop a deep understanding of the data sources available and how these sources can be related to tell a story.
- Develop a short- and long-term strategy in collaboration with the Director of Data and Technology, with clear milestones documented
- Hands-on development of reporting dashboards and deep dive analysis of our campaign and digital channel data to develop actionable insights for the team.
- Implement a data literacy program for the marketing org, focused on bridging the gap between analytics and the business.
- Experimentation with data science related to digital engagement use cases
- Collaboration with relevant marketing stakeholders on data management, journey mapping, record prioritization, and personalization efforts
- Substantial experience identifying and analyzing data and producing reports/presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A thorough understanding of modern marketing metrics and KPIs, and how they relate to creating and measuring goals and objectives.
- Significant experience with data visualization tools (i.e. Power BI or Google Dashboards) and an understanding of how user experience can influence data literacy
- Solid experience in generating analysis from a variety of digital data sources such as email marketing, social insights and Google Analytics to guide development of campaign strategies.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a well-informed approach to problem solving and decision-making.
- Must be able to interact and work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with Marketing Leadership Team, as well as external service providers, vendors and agencies.
- Familiarity with CRM (Salesforce), Marketing Automation (Marketo), CMS (Squiz Matrix), paid media channels, social media channels and personalization tools
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- A team player with a collaborative approach to problem solving
- Personal commitment to customer service and building relationships
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field
- Minimum 10 years of applicable experience in marketing data analytics and/or data science, data engineering
- Understanding and experience with data integration, semantic models (transformations and calculations), and data unification (relationships)
