You will be responsible for delivering actionable insights and solutions by applying advanced statistical analytics to the Institute's proprietary market research data on the financial health and wellbeing of Canadians. You will help to lead customized research projects and solutions for client and partner organizations in other markets as we grow.
You will be responsible for supporting client projects, producing high-quality reports, and consulting with Institutional clients and stakeholders under the guidance of the CEO, working with our agile and integrated team.

Salary Range $80,000 to $105,000/CAD plus employee benefits
Four weeks of paid vacation per year
Your Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for leading advanced insight work by applying expertise in data modeling (including data cleansing, standardization, and definition to ensure study variables are suitable for analysis), data visualization, and quantitative analysis, to see beyond the numbers and help inform, influence, support, and implement financial health solutions.
- Write and execute statistical procedures for multi-variate analysis of datasets, and production of cross-tabular reports and regression models.
- Translate data into insights and provide compelling insights, trends, stories, and implications as a data translator and financial health expert. Lead the development of a powerful ecosystem and customized reports in PowerPoint and other formats.
- Support the CEO with the ongoing development of studies and customized surveys and outputs joining key client, prospect, and presentation meetings as the statistical analyst and consultant.
- Analyze data and statistics for trends and patterns on topics such as financial inclusion challenges for under-served and target populations, the association between climate change and household financial vulnerability, the impact of financial behaviours and interventions on improved household financial resilience.
- Act as an internal advisor by understanding business needs, scoping data requests, synthesizing insights, and recommending solutions to our clients, working in collaboration with our Director of Research and Associates.
- Help to develop and maintain business intelligence solutions (dashboard & interactive reporting tools) by working with our Research Director of Research and Analytics and other partners.
- Collaborate to develop data governance and security models to support privacy, and data utilization. Proactively handle data integrity by identifying data issues and balancing gaps.
- Provide regular bite-size insights and identify key trends to support the creation of compelling whitepapers, social media pieces, or reports.
- Able to lead multiple concurrent projects/analyses at once that require inputs from cross-functional partners while balancing impact on business needs.
- Optimize and automate processes to support the efficient development of client, subscriber, and internal reports.
- Support the development of customized research analytics projects and solutions, harnessing qualitative as well as quantitative research methodologies.
- Work as a Consultant and research expert on projects, liaising directly with clients and partners as required.
- Support the CEO in the development of other programs, tools, or solutions from a B2B or B2C perspective.

A Typical Day in Role
- Support the CEO in the presentation and advisory around Financial Resilience Institute research data, reports, and projects with prospective and existing clients, with you taking the lead on analytics and report development.
- Work closely with the CEO and Research Director to analyze and deeply understand the latest Financial Resilience Institute research data, identify emerging trends and insights, and generate data visualizations to communicate them.
- Work closely with the CEO to develop and produce thought leadership documents on trends and define new client product/service solutions.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to transform insights into compelling and impactful content to drive relationship development and impact outcomes with a particular focus on underserved populations.
- Review the latest market research and stay up to date with emerging financial health innovation and industry trends in banking, wealth management, and the evolving state of financial health and well-being of Canadians and people in other markets we serve.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative statistical analysis and modeling, and prescriptive and predictive analysis using large, sophisticated sets of structured and unstructured data. Experience in Python is an asset.
- Create and deliver analytics, reports, dashboards, and tailored deliverables to engage the organization, current clients, partners, and subscribers.
- Consult with clients to help translate data insights into implications for their business and to support project initiatives.
Qualifications
- University Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative discipline.
- Advanced knowledge of SPSS (highly preferred) and/or similar statistical analysis tools.
- Knowledge of statistical methods commonly used in marketing and social sciences, including correlational analysis and significance testing; multivariate linear regression; logistical regression; classification and segmentation; dimension reduction.
- Ability to effectively translate advanced statistical terminology and outputs to meaningful business implications.
- Advanced knowledge of visualization techniques and slide design.
- Excellent analytical thinking for translating data into insightful visuals, reports, and âso what?â implications for clients and stakeholders.
- Experience working with enterprise BI and data visualization tools, such as Tableau, would be a strong asset.
- Experience in financial services, client-facing research, and/or consulting would be an asset.

- Microsoft Excel (including PowerPivot as a plus) and PowerPoint.
