Marketing Data Scientist

Job Description

We are currently hiring a Marketing Data Scientist in Boston, MA.

• A Hybrid position at Boston Beer requires that our coworkers reside within commuting distance to be onsite according to their teams’ weekly schedule.
  
  

The Marketing Data Scientist is tasked with helping BBC improve and optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of our marketing investments by processing, modelling and analyzing large, complex sets of marketing data. This person will support work in measuring performance through our Media Mix Model and Matched Market Testing, as well as overseeing the marketing data pipelines.

What You'll Brew:

• Data Modelling and Analysis
• Utilize advanced statistical and analytical techniques to analyze large datasets, extract meaningful insights, and identify patterns and trends related to marketing investment strategy
• Oversee quality of Media Mix Model outputs and make recommendations on improvements
• Build out the internal Matched Market Testing methodology and process including variables to include, quality checks and application/interpretation
• Build in advanced metrics and reporting into existing dashboards via Power BI
• Data Management
• Extract, Transform and Load marketing data from API management tool into internal cloud database
• Continue to build out repository of marketing data sources from ingestion all the way through to reporting
• Partner closely with Data Engineering to maintain integrity of data pipelines through process improvements and QA
  

What Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Computer Science or a related field
• 1 year of experience
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation and analysis
• Prior experience in marketing-related advanced analysis such as MMM and MTA
• Working knowledge of data from common marketing platforms (Google DV360, Meta, etc.)
• Intermediate SQL experience – ability to write and optimize queries, build views and troubleshoot data pipeline issues
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Data Science, Marketing Analytics, or a related field
• Power BI (or Tableau, other) experience
  
  

Level: 7

In accordance with pay transparency laws the salary range for this role if hired is $71,400 – $130,000 annually based on location and the experience level of the candidate. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance. Certain sales positions are also eligible for car allowance.
