Machine learning engineers develop and maintain machine learning models and applications. Education & Experience Working toward a bachelor's degree (or master's degree) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field. Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program. Experience in Python. Taken a machine learning course. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities are continuously shifting. High levels of creative and quick problem-solving skills. Desire to learn, ask questions and develop new skills and take on new challenges. Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Work on existing machine learning algorithms and tools based on user requirements. Prototype and test models for feasibility/scalability studies. Code in Python. Work with dataset processing. Support the Machine Learning Engineering team on projects that are on the front end of technology. Competencies & Work Style: Ambitious to learn. Work Environment & Physical Demands: While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time and use a computer. This position is a paid internship, 40 hours per week May to August, 2024. The position is hybrid with 2 days in the office in Grand Rapids, Michigan and the remaining days remote from home. Remote may be available for qualified individuals who do not live within commuting distance. In person attendance to orientation (3 days) at the corporate office in Grand Rapids, Michigan is required. Additionally, there will be several optional teambuilding and educational events during the course of the summer that take place in Michigan. Pay: Freshman/Sophomore: $16 per hour Junior/Senior/Masters: $17 per hour Why AvaSure?
