Your impact
Jacobs is actively seeking a dedicated Junior Data Scientist to enhance our Advisory Solutions Group, specifically within the Data Analytics Practice focusing on Federal clients. This role is integral to a specialized team that delivers data-driven analytical solutions to a diverse array of Federal organizations, aiming to improve the operational efficiency and management effectiveness. The Junior Data Scientist will engage in various activities, including data collection, database architecture development, statistical analysis, and the creation of insightful visualizations and reports.
In this role, you will contribute towards Jacobs' competitive advantage through analytics and data science, supporting both internal projects and external client requirements. Ideal candidates are early-career professionals or recent graduates with a foundational skill set in data management, statistics, programming languages, keen on exploring business process engineering and system integration. Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field, from an accredited university.
- 2 years of experience in data science or a related field, including academic projects or internships specifically focusing on data analytics; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Basic proficiency with Python, typescript, or other programming languages.
- Understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Knowledge of or exposure to Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
- Strongly preferred knowledge of Palantir.
- Eagerness to learn and apply new technical skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time CONUS and OCONUS. With the ability to also obtain a U.S. Government Common Access Card.
