Copart is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Junior Software Engineer to join our innovative AI team. In this role, you will focus on developing cutting-edge AI solutions, with a particular emphasis on Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI. As an AI Engineer, you will be evaluating, restructuring, and improving Copart’s products. You'll work alongside experienced professionals to create and implement AI-driven features that enhance our products and services.

- Develop and maintain software applications with a focus on AI, LLM, and generative AI integration
- Assist in the implementation of machine learning models and AI algorithms within our software ecosystem
- Work closely with data engineers and utilize data technologies, including SQL, ETL/ELT, Realtime data stream and data warehousing to implement or improve data, applications, and statistical models.
- Contribute to the design and development of AI-powered features using LLMs and generative AI techniques
- Participate in data preparation, preprocessing, and feature engineering tasks for AI models
- Help in fine-tuning, and optimizing LLMs for specific applications
- Assist in developing and implementing prompt engineering strategies for LLMs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Conduct experiments and analyze results to improve AI model performance and integration
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, particularly in LLM and generative AI technologies
- Contribute to documentation, testing, and deployment of AI-enhanced software applications
- Participate in code reviews and follow best practices in software development
- BS/MS in Computer Science and Engineering or Equivalent degree
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts, particularly in natural language processing (NLP) and generative AI
- Familiarity with modern software development practices, including version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD, and agile methodologies
- Good Understanding of Data Engineering, Business Intelligence and SQL.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
- 2+ years of experience or equivalent designing, developing, and implementing scalable, high-performing applications in Python or R
