Job Description
Summary of Duties, but not limited to:
- Engages patients to promote utilization of myHealthRecord Portal by educating them on availability, and benefits of enrolment
- Processes in-person and online patient portal enrolment requests in compliance with hospital policies and procedures
- Guides patients through enrolment process for myHealthRecord Portal
- Provides support to patients via phone, email and in person
- Addresses and researches inquiries regarding patient accounts to ensure proper account resolution, generates required changes, follows up with the patient if applicable
- Responds to complaints and resolves problems using established hospital processes
- Manages all questions and concerns regarding accounts and exercises good judgment in resolving issues related to the patient portal
- Assists with the development, documentation, and periodic review of the patient portal processes
- Provides coverage in Release of Information as required
- Accountable for productivity and accuracy of all requests
- Responsible for promoting confidentiality and privacy awareness
- Builds relationships with both our internal and external customers

Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized Health Information Management/Professional program
- Certification with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)
- Current active CHIMA member in good standing and maintained on an annual basis
- Two (2) years previous experience in a hospital health records environment required
- In-depth knowledge of key legislation pertaining to release of personal health information (Personal Health Information Protection Act, Public Hospitals Act, Mental Health Act, Coroner’s Act, Vital Statistics Act, Consent to Treatment Act)
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment both independently and within a team, exercising sound judgment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Med2020 preferred
- Experience with release of information preferred
- Proven attendance and punctuality required
- Legally entitled to work in Ontario and resides in Ontario
- Professional behavior and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital
