Responsibilities
Represents the BTS (Business Technology Services) Department in the provision of application maintenance and technical services to support enterprise operation and enable business transformation for an assigned area. Works with clients and other BTS teams in identifying, proposing, and implementing new applications or services, application system changes, enhancements, configurations, interfaces, and solutions to issues while ensuring these applications or services comply with BTS standards and regulations. Develops, where agreed and feasible, software customizations, interfaces, reports and/or new applications. Maintains the health of applications by providing technical and maintenance support throughout their lifecycle stages. Responds to emergency call-outs for immediate operational support as required.
Education
Qualifications
Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field from a recognized higher education institution including courses in business/systems analysis, general programming and the use of software development tools.
Experience
Requires three (3) years of recent experience in supporting enterprise applications in an information technology environment following current and relevant frameworks such as ITIL, Modern Service Management, Lean, and DevOps, applying these guidelines and best practices, utilizing development tools and information engineering techniques, communicating with users, other BTS teams and external parties to resolve problems and identify solutions. A further period of up to one (1) year in the position is required to become familiar with assigned TransLink information systems, policies, procedures, environment and its user requirements.

This is a full-time temporary assignment with an approximate end date of 08/01/2025.
Work Designation
Remote
This positions offers the ability to work predominately in a remote capacity within B.C. The business will request onsite presence at times for operational reasons.
Rate of Pay
Salary $7,977 - $9,953 per month (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
The Total Compensation Package includes Extended Health, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan upon eligibility. Other Information
The IT Planning & Portfolio Management team’s key accountabilities include:
- Establishing, improving and advancing portfolio framework activities across BTS, including development of annual plans and clear, consistent, and accessible reporting.
- Utilizing best practices, techniques, and tools for project planning, milestone/deliverable tracking, communication, and key performance metrics.
- Developing, implementing, and supporting portfolio reporting via Power BI to show performance against plan, including preparing planning presentation content for leaders in IT & the business.
- Analytics, Project Leadership, and representation of IT Planning & Portfolio Management and BTS on various improvement or collaboration projects.
- Monitoring project data, including milestones, schedule commitments, resource commitments, and constraints.
- Building the relationship between IT Planning & Portfolio Management and BTS via the development of communications, presentations or working sessions / workshops deploying strong coordination and communication skills.
- Under the guidance of the Manager of Planning and Portfolio, work with project delivery to quantify project benefits to enable objective evaluation of projects against objectives and aid project approval decision-making.
- Apply modifications to portfolio gates to support improved project selection decision-making and development.
- Support technical development of the forms and reporting tools to align record management in all downstream systems.
- Monitor usage and adherence of the new process and forms to ensure thorough and transparent reporting.
- Mature and advance the portfolio framework and associated reporting, including design & development of KPI’s in partnership with IT Governance.
