Duties:
Client is looking for a People Data Scientist contractor to join the their People Insights & Analytics (PIA) team. PIA is a team of analytics experts, research scientists and dashboard wizards delivering evidence-based answers, business intelligence solutions, and data-driven insights to help leaders make better decisions. This is a highly collaborative team, partnering across the People Team and the Business on all the programs client delivers.
The People Data Scientist will be responsible for uncovering patterns, trends, and correlations within HR data to enable evidence-based decision-making, enhance workforce management, and support strategic HR initiatives. They will collaborate with PIA teammates and HR functional leads and organizational leaders to perform and productionize analyses on a broad spectrum of people initiatives, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, compensation, productivity and motivation, etc. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative skills and experience consulting with organizations to design the best methods that lead to the right impact.
What you’ll do:
- Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data science and data visualization to critical people initiatives, and automate your output through enduring and self-serve tools and compelling visuals.
- See beyond the data to identify solutions that will raise the bar for all things people-related
- Collaborate with our data engineer and Business Intelligence Analysts to access,mine, and manipulate data, and build tools with the business and end-user in mind.
- Communicate actionable statistical analyses and results, along with implications, to technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrate exceptional judgment and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive people data
Skills:
- Expert knowledge of and experience applying multivariate statistical methods such as GLM, analysis of quasi-experimental research designs, SARIMAX, longitudinal analysis, classification, dimension reduction, clustering, hierarchical linear (random effects) modeling, etc.
- Experience managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data using tools such as Python. Experience with machine learning, text mining/NLP, or modeling high-dimensional data
- Experience with Workforce Planning, talent acquisition and best methodologies to model their components and metrics: Hiring impact, demand planning, internal movement, attrition forecast, organization structure modeling, etc.
- Proficiency in reading and writing SQL queries
- 2+ years of experience consulting, including working with stakeholders to understand and clarify their people insight needs, and communicating analyses to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience conceiving, developing, and implementing empirical research and experiments
- Experience designing and collaborating to build tools that communicate practical analytics to stakeholders in simple and easy to understand visuals and terms.
- Knowledge of best practices in talent & organization management areas such as employee selection, employee engagement, performance management, diversity, organizational structures, or retention.
Remarks:
Relevant degree and experience in a field emphasizing employee data science in organizations (e.g., Data Science, Decision Science, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Social Psychology, Economics, or related degree)
