As a Data Scientist at Lennar, you will be crucial in advancing our understanding and approach to customer modeling and pricing strategies. This position straddles the realms of personalized customer interactions and strategic pricing decisions, impacting all 40+ divisions of the company. You will be at the forefront of developing new algorithms and models, driving innovation in recommending optimal content, communication strategies, and pricing models for our homes. Your work will influence how Lennar interacts with its customers and how homes are priced and sold across the organization. You will be empowered as a product owner to research, test, and develop new ideas while guiding the work from end to end.

Responsibilities


  • Develop and enhance algorithms and models for customer recommendation systems and pricing strategies.
  • Build models that effectively recommend products and construct impactful customer communications (email, text, etc.).
  • Create demand elasticity models considering inventory availability, price, and other factors.
  • Actively experiment and validate model performance through feedback and hypothesis testing.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of existing data sources and advocate for new data acquisition to improve model performance.
  • Own and maintain the data pipelines supporting your systems.
  • Engineer solutions using Python and SQL, ensuring robustness and scalability.
  • Collaborate with other data scientists and analysts to rapidly develop high-impact solutions.
  • Directly interface with various stakeholders (sales managers, division presidents, etc.) to manage expectations, gather feedback, and deploy solutions.
  • Simplify complex data science, statistics, and software engineering concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Manage project timelines and expectations within the team and across the company


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Economics, Math, Computer Science, or a related analytical field. Equivalent experience is also considered.


  • 3+ years of relevant experience in data science (2+ with Master) in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in developing and deploying algorithms, machine learning models, and custom analyses.
  • Skilled in data pipeline engineering and maintenance.
  • Fluency in SQL and strong proficiency in Python.
  • Demonstrated analytical mindset with the ability to formulate clear, actionable insights from complex data.
  • Resilience and creativity in problem-solving.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on bringing together diverse perspectives towards common goals.
  • Experience in building recommender systems, attribution models, and conducting complex A/B testing is highly desirable.
  • Background in real estate analytics, and economic and price elasticity modeling is a plus.
