Data Analyst

Position: BSA/Data Analyst

Location: Ontario (Hybrid)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Project/Involvement Overview

The Business Systems Analyst will work with Data platform migration team. The BSA will be involved in defining the high-level solution scope, support the Solution Leads with system/data analysis, and refine high level requirements to support the estimation process. They will support the project team with delivery of multiple concurrent migration plans through working with the project team on prioritizing the product backlog, user story creation, and project status reporting.

YOU ARE

Good understanding of data warehousing and data engineering

Good understanding of Data Lake principles, Hadoop distributed platform

Experienced with Scrum and Kanban frameworks

Great at elicitation and stakeholder management

Willing to participate in release planning

Able to facilitate, prepare, and conduct elicitation sessions

A curious person, who loves learning through practice and sharing, by utilizing the information learned

Knowledgeable about the Requirements Lifecycle – be able to drive the requirements management process

Demonstrating Upper-Intermediate English level

Ready to learn and develop skills while working with a little supervision

YOU WILL

Solution scope the data migration backlog

Specifying, verifying, and validation of Functional and Non-functional requirements

Facilitating discussions between the business and project team to reach a common understanding of the requirements

Perform high level system and Data analysis – strong SQL and Excel skills an asset

Acceptance of work items being done by the team

Release planning and alignment of multiple teams

Participate in Scrum ceremonies (Backlog Refinement, Sprint Demo sessions)

Reporting on project status, issues, and risks.
