Data Analyst

Position Summary
The Business Analyst role is a dynamic and detail-oriented position. The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and contributing to the success of the company. This role will take part in various company projects, utilizing project management framework and best practices for planning, initiating, executing, monitoring, and closing projects. At an enterprise level this role will touch base in all levels and departments of the company, the successful candidate will need to practice a high degree of business acumen and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Gathering
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document business objectives and needs.
- Conduct interviews, surveys, and workshops to gather comprehensive and detailed business requirements.
2. Data Analysis
- Analyze and interpret complex datasets to extract meaningful insights.
- Evaluate the impact of proposed changes and provide data-driven recommendations.
3. Process Mapping:
- Document current business processes using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
- Identify and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
4. Solution Design:
- Work Closely with cross-functional teams to design and document solutions that align with business requirements.
- Create detailed functional specifications for development teams.
5. Stakeholder Communication:
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to various audiences.
6. Risk Assessment:
- Identify potential risks and challenges associated with proposed solutions.
- Develop strategies and plans to mitigate risks and ensure successful project delivery.
7. Testing and Validation:
- Collaborate with department leaders and teams to define and execute testing plans.
- Participate in user acceptance testing and address issues to ensure a seamless implementation.
8. Change Management:
- Assist in the development of change management plans for the adoption of new processes or systems.
- Work with communications team to provide training and support to end-users during the transition period.
9. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that documentation is accessible to relevant stakeholders.
10. Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement in business processes and systems.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, or a combination of experience and education in a related field.
- 2 years of experience in business analysis or related role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools (MS Project, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience with SaaS platforms is considered an asset.
- Certification as a Business Analyst – BA designation considered as asset.
