BI Analyst & Report Developer

Reporting to the VP, Data Science & Analytics, the Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst & Report Developer is responsible for implementing Data Analytics solutions, including designing, and developing dashboard reports and other BI products using the corporate Qlik Sense products. The BI Analyst & Report Developer will be experienced in the areas of data visualization techniques, data modelling, advanced statistical analysis techniques and business requirements gathering.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Gather and analyze business requirements to drive analytical and reporting initiatives.
• Translate business needs into end-user business-oriented dashboards, self-service analytics, and reports.
• Define and develop project specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and create monitoring dashboards and reports to track performance metrics.
• Develop complex statistical analytical and predictive models to enhance business insights into available data.
• Analyze, interpret, and evaluate outcome data, producing insightful analytical reports.
• Create business and technical documentation specifications and validate the application results.
• Build operational, tactical, and strategic dashboards, reports and other analytical solutions to help business users gain better insights to improve their decisions and operational efficiencies.
• Provide production support, including working with users to identify issues and to ensure user satisfaction.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in best practice data visualization methods.
• Ensure all analytics solutions are fully tested, documented and reflect accurate data for timely and optimized reporting of corporate information.
• Create close working relationship with the data engineering team and various business units to identify business problems, gather requirements and develop analytics solutions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant privacy regulations and maintain the highest standards of data security.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

• Bachelor’s degree in computer software science or a related discipline.
• 3+ years designing, developing and deploying complex BI solutions.
• Expert experience in querying databases/data warehouses/data lakes using SQL.
• Previous experience creating dashboards and reports with a focus on data visualization best practices is preferred.
• Familiarity of QlikView or Qlik Sense UI design experience and advanced expressions (Set Analysis) is an asset.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and strong problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Works independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
• Places emphasis on client satisfaction and clearly communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical team members and staff.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires flexibility and balancing of competing priorities.
