Edelman Data & Intelligence (DXI) is currently seeking an Analyst to join our Data and Intelligence team. Reporting to the Insights Manager, the role will focus on providing insights and consultative support to our account teams to help drive business results for our clients. The successful candidate will be a research professional who will utilize their experience working with data,largely secondaryin nature (e.g., social listening, media monitoring, syndicated data sets) to contribute to the growth of our Data and Intelligence business.

You will have a solid background in research methods and strong skills across the entire project lifecycle, from research design, project execution, data analysis, and reporting. You will leverage your experience, curiosity, and collaboration to support the development of innovative and creative research methods, and to uncover insights that will provide clear direction in terms of communications planning and marketing program related decision-making for our clients.

This position requires experience with various statistical methods that are necessary for interpreting data sets, as well as a passion for understanding their impact on human behaviour and the big picture. You also have excellent organizational skills, unwavering attention to detail, strong design abilities in PowerPoint or developing dashboards, and the ability to adapt to and effectively manage new conditions, assignments, and deadlines.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide day-to-day research support that will assist clients in meeting their research objectiveslargely through media monitoring and analysis
  • Responsible for day-to-day administration of research initiatives, including implementation and oversight of studies, and responding to ad-hoc research requests
  • Effectively distill data into coherent analysis, insights and ultimately actionable recommendations in straight forward and simple language and communicate research findings in visually engaging PowerPoint presentations or Dashboards
  • Support on the development of quantitative & qualitative analyses which leads to strategic insights and ultimately recommendations against a client's marketing and communications efforts and business objectives
  • Effectively collaborate with external research vendors throughout the research process: data collection, data processing, and results reporting
  • Support Senior Staff on effectively distilling data into coherent analysis, insights, and actionable recommendations in straight forward and simple language and communicate research findings in visually engaging PowerPoint presentations
  • Act as a lead on Q&A of outgoing reports to ensure deliverables meet standards
  • Participate in client presentations and support new business pitches specific to custom primary research, measurement strategy, campaign analysis, landscape analyses, content optimization, etc.
  • Stay informed about client industries including their technologies, products, target markets and competitors
  • Maintain strong internal/external relationships; support fellow team members and an inclusive team environment


Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Must have 1-3 years of relevant experience in data, analytics, or research with potential areas including consulting, advertising, media or publishing, ideally from a communications agency or research house
  • Experience with the development of research and measurement frameworks based on clearly defined objectives
  • A demonstrated ability to think critically, solve problems, and develop a narrative based on data driven insights
  • Strong project management skills, including timeline development and project scoping
  • Advanced skills in Excel, and the ability to understand and maintain data integrity
  • Strong understanding of structuring and executing research, such as audience segmentation and key driver analysis
  • Proven ability to analyze, organize, and translate substantial amounts of data and information into clear and concise, story-telling focused presentations and plans
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including strong skills in document and presentation development.
  • Ability to collaborate, develop, and implement measurement strategies
  • Strategic yet creative thinker and self-starter, who is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with platforms and syndicated data sets like Brandwatch, Sysomos, Meltwater, comScore, SimilarWeb, Global Web Index, Mintel, Statista, IBIS World, etc.
  • Strong PowerPoint design skills and abilities, including the ability to communicate quantitative data into a visually engaging story and organize/ integrate large amounts of information into concise presentation
  • An understanding of data visualization tools like PowerBI or Tableau is a bonus
  • Chinese language skills and understanding of the Chinese media landscape are a bonus
