The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California. Coinbase allows users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies, as well as store them in a wallet on the site.
The company has also venture-funded several other cryptocurrency startups, including BlockFi, Compound, and ParaFi Capital. In addition to its primary crypto exchange business, Coinbase also offers a Coinbase Pro platform for more advanced traders, as well as a number of other services including a Coinbase Wallet and an education arm called Coinbase Learn. Coinbase went public via a direct listing on the Nasdaq stock exchange on april 14th, 2021. As of may 2021, coinbase has a market capitalization of over $85 billion.
